Kingfisher's new owners have truly taken ownership by giving her a new name. The Defiant attended her first festival at the Cape Vincent Historical Weekend on June 25th. Also in attendance was her new sister ship Insolent, two other small boats, St Lawrence II and Fair Jeanne. Defiant participated in the Evening Battle Skirmish, the highlight of this 2016 annual event. The event description reads... "Tall Ships and period watercraft will stage a waterborne attack on “Gravelly Point,” with guns and muskets ablaze, and return fire from the on shore battery. Experience the bursts of flame and black powder smoke!!!!" The event was a great hit to all those involved. The after party included the official christening of Defiant, complete with grog for Neptune and crew alike! We wish Defiant the best in her new adventures. See you on the water!
